Halifax International Airport North End Expansion

Halifax, Nova Scotia

In the Fall of 2000, Rideau was selected by the new Airport Authority as the design-builder for this $25 million expansion and renovation to the existing Terminal Building.

The project includes new Canadian Customs passenger processing and administration space, Immigration and Food Inspection Services, an International Arrivals Area (3X the size of the existing), a Domestic Arrivals and Greeters Area (4X the existing size), new car rental facilities and space for future US Pre-Clearance operations.

This fast-track project, carried out in phases to ensure normal airport functions were maintained, was completed in Spring and Fall 2002.
