Halifax, Nova Scotia

Initially contracted as construction manager for the owners, the project entailed the complete renovation of an existing 33-year-old facility. Working in conjunction with the owner and their architect, the most cost-effective methods and construction materials were established. The next challenge of the project was to completely renovate the facility while the owner maintained full operations. As a result the project was scheduled over six different phases, accommodating the owner and providing minimal disruption to the senior residents.

After establishing the milestones of meeting the owners' budget and developing a mutual schedule, the 58,000 sf project developed into a design-build contract, which was completed in the Fall of 2002 with each milestone date achieved or exceeded.

The firm of Harvey & Mackenzie were the architects on the project.
