Springhill, Nova Scotia

The owner of the 55-bed, extended-care facility in Springhill, Nova Scotia needed a building that offered maximum design flexibility to cater to residents' needs. The result is a multi-disciplinary structure with a veterans wing, an Alzheimer's wing, individual kitchens, laundry, physiotherapy, a chapel and a hair salon. Three separate dining rooms enable residents to dine in full comfort. The heating system is a new under-floor radiant design, and the latest and best equipment was used throughout. Rideau managed to complete the project in just seven months with the new residents taking occupancy December 5, 1994.
